Quarter 1
Our first thing we did in digital photography was how to restore torn, cracked, folded, ect... pictures. We used almost all of the photoshop tools to restore this ripped old photo. Below is the before and after example of what we did.
The next restoration project was restoring an old couples photo. As seen below, the jacket of the woman was ripped off and the entire picture was in black and white. We had to restore color to the picture and put a jacket on the lady. We also had to do other minor edits as well. On the top of the two photos is the winner of the photoshop contest for this picture, while on the bottom is the before and after.
Our next digital photography project was copying and pasting a painting into a museum in front of all the actual paintings. In order to do this we had to use the polygon laso tool in photoshop and laso the painting of the woman. Then we had to copy the painting while it was still laso tooled and pasted the image into the museum. Next, we used the transform controls such as distort, warp, and perspective to make the painting actually look like it was in the museum.
The next restoration excersize was to restore an old army photo. We had to add color to the men's uniforms and had to color their skin. Also we had to get rid of the markings on the photo and and get rid of the creases. The photo on the left is the before and the photo on the right is the after.
This restoration was very simple. All we did was clone stamp the circles over the white ripped parts. It looks like it would take only a minute but it is very difficult to get all the circles to match up correctly. The left is what we started with and on the right is my finished product.
Quarter 2
Below, the clone stamp was used to cover up the white pieces missing.
Another restoration was fixing a baseball card using a lot of the photoshop tools.
The makeup lady: The right half of the woman was professionally done, so our job as a student was to try to make her right half look like her left using all the different photoshop tools. Below the picture on the left is the before and the picture on the right is the after.
The next restoration was to turn the photo on the left into black and white and to touch it up, ie getting ride of cracks rips, tears, ect. I used photoshop to make the photo on the left to the photo on the right.
The next excersize was a morph of two people. A picture had to be taken of two people, then using different layers and changing the opacity, the two pictures became morphed.
